A copolymer comprising about 20-90 weight % of ethylene, about 10-80 weight % of an alpha -olefin and optionally up to 20 weight % of a diene. The amount of inverted alpha -olefin sequences in the polymer chain lies within certain ranges. The invention relates also to copolymers having a syndiotactic nature in the alpha -olefin pentads.
