An open-end spinning apparatus has a rotor housing open to the front, a high-speed rotating spinning rotor inside the housing and a fibre channel disc to close the housing. The disc has an interchangeable channel adaptor which, including the guide channel opening and a thread discharge nozzle, can be inserted firmly in, or disconnected from, a correspondingly shaped receptacle in the disc. The adaptor (18) can be firmly attached or loosened by a shape-interlocking fixing device (25) located centrally and at least one second fixing device (39) providing a force interlock. Preferably the shape-interlock fixing device is formed as a threaded connector, i.e. a device in the receptacle with guide lugs (31) and a central tube-like attachment (23) with spiral grooves (24) which fits in a locking disc which then fits into the channel disc and closes it air-tight towards the rear. Alternatively it can be a component of a one-piece injection moulded channel plate. It fits a recess (28) in the conical bearing piece (34) opposite the discharge nozzle and there is a device between channel disc and adaptor to ensure precise angular alignment. The force-interlock fixing device is a magnetic connector, e.g. an annular ferromagnetic disc (30) located near the recess and providing the lugs corresponding with the spiral grooves and permanent magnets (26) attached to the channel disc. There is an air gap (S) of at least 0.1 mm between ferromagnetic disc and permanent magnets. Marks on the channel disc and the adaptor provide means for inspection.
