PURPOSE:To obtain the electrophotographic sensitive body good in storage stability by controlling a pigment to binder resin volume ratio into a specified range in an interlayer formed between a conductive substrate and a photoconductive layer containing hydroquinone, its derivatives, or an organic phosphite compound. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is formed by successively laminating on the conductive substrate (I) made of Al or the like, the interlayer (II) containing a nearly white inorganic pigment, such as TiO2, having almost no absorption of the visible light and the near infrared rays, and the binder resin, such as polyvinyl acetal, difficultly soluble in general organic solvents, preferably, a hardened resin forming a 3-dimensional reticular structure, in a pigment to resin volume ratio of 1/1-3/1, and the photoconductive layer (III) having a 2 layer structure comprising an electric charge generating layer obtained by dispersing an azo pigment or the like into a polyester resin or the like, and another layer obtained by dispersing an alpha-phenylstilbene into a polystyrene resin or the like and coating with the dispersion, and further said layer (III) containing hydroquinone or one of its derivatives and one kind of the organic phosphite compounds, thus permitting the obtained electrophotographic sensitive body to be stabilized in potential acceptance and improved in storage stability. |
