<p>A colourless, translucent, shelf stable, fast curing, one part room temperature vulcanisable silicone composition having good rheological properties is claimed being translucent and non-corrosive, having an application rate of at least 150 g/minute and a Boeing thixotropy of 0.30 in. or less. The composition consists essentially of: (a) 100 pts.wt. of a scavenger free polydiorganosiloxane of formula (I) (R1O)3-a-Si(R2)a-(O-Si(R)2)n-O-Si(R2)a-(OR1)3-a (I) where R, R2 = optionally substituted 1-15C monovalent hydrocarbon radical; R1 = 1-8C monovalent hydrocarbon radical or 7-13C monovalent aralkyl radical; n = 50-2,500; a = 0 or 1; and having a viscosity of about 100-500,000 cps at 25[deg] C; (b) about 25-40 pts.wt. of a fumed or pyrogenic silica reinforcing filler; (c) from slightly greater than zero to 50 pts.wt. of a triorganosilyl end-stopped diorganopolysiloxane of formula (II): R33Si-(O-Si(R4)2)m-O-SiR33 (II), where R3 = as R1; R4 = as R; m is chosen so that the viscosity is 10-5000 cps at 25[deg] C; (d) from slightly greater than zero to 50 pts.wt. of a polyalkoxysilane crosslinking agent of formula (III): (R5O)4-a-Si-R6a (III), where R5 = as R1; R6 = as R2; (e) about 0.10-3.0 pts.wt. of a titanium condensation cure catalyst of formula (IV): Ti(OR7)4 (IV), where R7 = 1-10C monovalent hydrocarbon radical; and (f) about 0.28-1.50 pts.wt. of a 1,3,5-tris(trialkoxy-silylaryl)isocyanurate of formula (V), where R9 = as R1; R8 = 3-8C divalent hydrocarbon radical.</p> |
