The apparatus consists of a number of components (1a,1b,1c etc.) mounted on a frame (3). Its supporting system is isostatic with a set of vertical jacks (7) jointed to a fixed structure (17). All joints (15,19,27,31) may be of ball-and-socket type. The jacks are supplied with fluid under pressure from active hydraulic systems connected to distribution units so that the frame is repositioned according to the degree of freedom allowed by each set of jacks. Similar supports are provided between the sides (e.g. 3c) and ends (e.g. 3d) and uprights (29).
