PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new physiologically active substance which originates from a microorganism in Aspergillus, a glycoprotein bearing an asparagine type saccharide chain adsorbed to Con. A, has carcinostatic action and is effective for treatment of solid cancer, ascites-type cancer, polymorphous cellular sarcoma. SOLUTION: This new physiologically active substance originates from a microorganism in Aspergillus, bears an asparagine type saccharide chain adsorbed to Con. A, has a carcinostatic action and is effective for treatment of solid cancer, ascites-type cancer, polymorphous cellular sarcoma and human dental mouth cavity tumor. This substance is obtained by culturing Aspergillus flavus SRT-K strain (FERM BP-5030), treating the cell bodies with an enzyme such as a novozyme and a surfactant, for example, sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate, destroying the cell bodies by promptly dropping the osmotic pressure, and collecting the fraction which is adsorbed to the Con.
