PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a good drive constantly for an electric vehicle with a synchronous motor as a driving source, by preventing an overcurrent in a main circuit or a battery even when an inverter relay is made again after a disconnected state. SOLUTION: A control method for an electric vehicle includes an inverter 14 for feeding DC power from a battery 10 to a synchronous motor 16, a smoothing capacitor 18 connected in parallel with the inverter 14 for smoothing the DC power, and an inverter relay 12 for making or breaking the DC power from the battery 10 to the inverter 14 and the capacitor 18. When the inverter relay 12 is made after a disconnected state, the inverter 14 is so controlled that a current flowing in or out the inverter 14 is prevented until the inverter relay 12 is completely made again, and a normal state is recovered. |
