PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bulky knitted and woven fabrics excellent in water absorption, tension and liveliness, improved in bulkiness, having dry and soft touch and silky handle. SOLUTION: In this a bulky knitted and woven fabrics obtained by knitting and weaving a combined filament yarn of an extensible polyester-based yarn and a shrinkable polyester-based yarn, heat-treating and subjecting the knitted and the woven fabrics to alkali weight-loss treatment, a hollow modified yarn having three to six sectional strip-shaped recessed channels on the outer peripheral face, 5-20% percentage of hollowness, >=1μm depth of the strip-shaped recessed channels and <=0.4 of the diameter of the outer periphery of the filament, 0.2-2.0μm width and 60-150% elongation at break is used as the extensible polyester-based yarn. The combined filament yarn is partially fibrillated in the inside of the recessed channels and the central hollow, the difference in length between the extensible polyester-based yarn and the shrinkable polyester- based yarn existing between two points in the length direction of the combined filament yarn is made >=10% the latter and the specific volume of the knitted and the woven fabric is made >=2.5cc/g. |
