PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode material for constituting a lithium secondary battery capable of producing a smooth battery reaction by reacting a lithium nitride metal compound and an oxidizing agent. SOLUTION: By reacting a lithium nitride metal compound and an oxidizing agent, an electrode material showing the potential higher than 1.0V vs. metallic lithium standard in a lithium ion conductive electrolyte is obtained. The oxidizing agent is preferable to be a transition metal oxide, forming a reductant having lithium ion conductivity in the oxidation reaction, especially having spinel structure, a transition metal disulfide, and a halogen especially iodine. By using the electrode material obtained, at least one electrode of a pair of electrodes is formed, and a lithium ion conductive electrolyte is arranged between the electrodes. When the battery is constituted, lithium nitride metal compound and an oxidizing agent are contained in the electrode, and the oxidation reaction by an electrochemical reaction is conducted. |
