<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a device from being damaged though a foreign matter is thrown in and to improve a processing rate as fast as possible by inhibiting the foreign matter from being taken into the main body of an automatic ticket examination device at the time of judging the throwing in of the foreign matter. SOLUTION: An inserted object inserted to an insertion port 1 is detected by a thickness sensor D1 provided on this side of a first separation part S1 and its detection signal is inputted to a controller C. When the controller C judges the thickness of the inserted object obtained by the thickness sensor D1 to be not less than 1.2mm, it is judged that a foreign matter except a train ticket is thrown into the insertion port 1. Then the motor M of a main carrying path L and motors m1 and m2 for a separation part S are abnormality-stopped to stop the taking in of the inserted object to the main body. Consequently the foreign matter is stopped at least on this side of a reading heads H1 and H1' to effectively prevent the reading heads H1 and H1' from being damaged by the foreign matters.</p> |
