<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a treating liquid compsn. for a recording material having an alkali soluble photosensitive resin compsn. layer, an intermediate layer and an alkali-soluble thermoplastic resin layer on a substrate that the treatment to remove the alkali-soluble thermoplastic resin layer and the intermediate layer of the recording material is uniformly carried out with easy control of the liquid, and moreover, troubles due to air bubbles in the treating liquid can be prevented. SOLUTION: This treating liquid compsn. has the pH range from 9 to 11, and a surfactant expressed by formula is added to the treating liquid.
