PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable high speed recording with high coercive force, to reduce noise and to improve S/N ratio in a magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: In the magnetic recording medium constructed by containing a non-magnetic supporting body 1 and a magnetic recording film 3 composed of a magnetic metallic material, which is formed through a substrate 2 composed of a non-magnetic metallic material on the supporting body 1, the substrate 2 is constituted of a metallic material consisting essentially of chromium or chromium and molybdenum and the magnetic recording film 3 is constituted of a metallic material consisting essentially of at least one kind selected from a group composed of cobalt, chromium, tantalum and platinum. |
