PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the lead wire connection mechanism for an exhaust gas sensor which is easy to connect a lead wire thereto, can maintain connection part water-tightness and is resistant to impact from the outside. SOLUTION: This lead wire connection mechanism makes the inside of the rear end of an outer cylinder a connector mounting opening 11 opened outward, and embeds a terminal pin 26 for connecting a gas detection element 20 to an insulating protection layer 27. The terminal pin 26 protrudes from the insulating protection layer 27 to the inside of the connector mounting opening 11, and a connector 30 holding a connection terminal 32 connected to the lead wire in a topped engaging cylinder 10 outward engaged to the connector mounting opening 11 of an outer cylinder 10 is outward engaged to the connector mounting opening 11, so that the connection terminal 32 is connected to the terminal pin 26. |
