PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the image coder which provides an output of a bit stream accurately with simple control in the case of applying parallel processing to data of split screens by a plurality of coders to code the data and to output compression data. SOLUTION: A detection control section 97 of a coder 0 among coders 0-7 detects it that a boundary identification code is transferred to a temporary storage section 96 and after a 1st line compression data output of the coder 0 is given, the compression data output operation is stopped after the output of the 1st line compression data without conducting compression data output of a 2nd line immediately and 1st line compression data output is started for the coder 1 conducting coding compression data output of split screen data of an adjacent right division image.
