PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the plastic deformation of a developer carrier from occur ring by forming a supporting body so that it is turned between a first position and a second position and providing a developing device with a means respective ly rotating the developer carrier in a first direction in developing and in a second direction after the development is finished and positioning the supporting body at the first position and the second position. SOLUTION: When a developing roller 28 is rotated in the first direction, the supporting body 28 is turned by friction between the roller 28 and a blade 34 and the other surface of the body 28 abuts on the parallel surface of a projection part 42. Then, the subsequent rotating action of the body 38 is inhibited. At this time, the body 38 is set at the first position. In such a state, pressure is applied to the surface of the roller 28 and the roller 28 is distorted by as much as the application of pressure. However, when an image forming action is finished, the roller 28 is rotated in the second direction and the body 28 is turned in accordance with it. Then, the roller 28 is rotated in a prescribed time and stopped. Therefore, since the body 38 is positioned at the second position, the deflection of the blade 34 becomes almost zero and the plastic deformation of the roller 28 is prevented from occurring. |
