PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily execute item retrieval and also retrieve items from geographical conditions by displaying an item list and, at the same time, a map corresponding to the said item list, too. SOLUTION: When the place name retrieval mode is specified, Prefectures list is displayed in each line in a display region 20 and, at the same time, a deformed map of the whole of Japan is displayed in a map display region 22. The displayed Prefectures list can be changed only by specifying the desired letter situated at the head of a line by means of a cursor 32. Prefectures to be specified can be specified by means of a cursor 31. A point mark 30 is displayed superimposed on the specified Prefectures in the map of the whole of Japan. The display position of the said point mark 30 moves in correspondence with the movement of the cursors 31, 32. Since the location can also be grasped at the time of item retrieval, the user's burden is lightened. Furthermore, the displayed list can be changed only by specifying the letter situated at the head of a line by means of a cursor. Therefore, it is possible to improve the efficiency of retrieval. |
