PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 'heart' knocking-type writing instrument which gives a good feeling of operation to the user when its knocking action is performed and is applicable as a high-grade knocking-type writing instrument. SOLUTION: This knocking-type writing instrument is equipped with a rotary cam 5 with an almost 'heart' shaped cam groove 51 formed with a jutting-out position and a sinking position, arranged on the outer peripheral face of a knocking member 4. In addition, a cam follower 6 is insetted in the cam groove 51 and is transferred between the jutting-out position and the sinking position of the cam groove 51. Consequently, a writing part 21 at the tip of a refill 2 is projected and retracted through the tip opening 12 of a shaft cylinder 1. In this case, the cam follower 6 is installed in such a manner that the shaft cylinder 1 can make a single rotation, so that the cam follower 6 is transferred as it is rotated in the cam groove 51 when the knocking operation is performed. |
