PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to estimate the remaining life simply and accurately by estimating the remaining life from the recognition of the abnormality of a rolling bearing to the serious damage of the bearing based on the specified expression. SOLUTION: The remaining life Ldh (hour) from the recognition of the abnormality of a rolling bearing to the occurrence of the serious damage of the bearing, such as in no-rolling accident is estimated based on the expression Ldh=0.032×(1×10<6> )/60N}×(C/P)<3.37> . In the expression, C is a dynamic load rating, P is a load acting on the bearing and N is the number of rotation of the bearing used. The remaining life Ldh obtained by this expression substantially agrees with the actual value. Whereas the JIS rated life Lh is the life to the initial stage (abnormality recognition) still having the rotating function wherein the degrees of damage of the bearing is light, the remaining life Ldh by this estimating expression includes the life until the occurrence of the serious damage of the bearing after the recognition of the abnormality. Therefore, unnecessary maintenance and the stopping of a production facility can be avoided.
