PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display the trace image of an image only inside a set processing area by providing a selective synthesizing means for synthesizing the trace image only in the area. SOLUTION: A trace image forming part 16 forms the trace image based on a ultrasonic image outputted from a ultrasonic image forming part 10. At an image synthesizing part 14, the trace image formed by the trace image forming part 16 is synthesized with the ultrasonic image formed by the ultrasonic image forming part 10. An area inside/outside discriminating part 18 compares the (x) coordinate of a real display picture element with x1 and x2 for each (y) coordinate showing the vertical address of a display screen. Only when the (x) is larger than x1 and smaller than x2 , the inside of the area is discriminated and the selection of the image is performed. Inside a processing area 100, the synthetic image inputted to an input terminal 2 of a selector 12 is outputted and in the other area, the non-synthesized ultrasonic image itself inputted to an input terminal 1 is outputted. An area setter 20 can freely set forms and positions as the processing area 100. |
