PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-priced slide members having polishing ability and always fresh contact surfaces by using glass as the main material at least for one of first and second sliding members. SOLUTION: If a sine wave voltage is applied to a laminated piezoelectric body 12, two kinds of ultrasonic wave vibrations are excited at the same time to the elastic body, the displacement of these two kinds of vibrations of synthesized and the slide member 13 is vibrated along the locus of the ellipse. Therefore, if a driven body 6 is pushed to a slide member 13, it receives a drive force from the vibration of the locus of ellipse and the driven body 6 performs a translational motion. Here, the slide member 13 as the first slide member is made of a grinding stone containing ordinary cerium oxide as a grinding stone for glass, and a blue plate glass used the most ordinary glass is adopted as glass forming the second sliding member. As a result, the slide portion slides while the slide portion grinds the glass slightly, the always fresh planes contact each other thereby maintaining good operation and further its cost is low. |
