PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensitivity setting device capable of removing the influence of base line oscillation and setting optimum sensitivity and an electrocardiograph provided with the device. SOLUTION: When the output of a time constant circuit 2 base line oscillates, a CPU 7 lowers the time constant of the time constant circuit 2, imparts prescribed cut-off frequency characteristics and removes ultra low frequency components which are the main factor of the base line oscillation. Then, the CPU 7 generates corresponding amplification control signals S, supplies them to a differential amplifier 1 and sets the optimum sensitivity so as to settle the difference of the maximum peak value and minimum peak value of signals from which base line oscillation is removed within a prescribed range.
