Chiral hydrazine derivatives

Disclosed are chiral hydrazine derivatives of the formula (Ia), (Ib), (Ic) and (Id) <IMAGE> <IMAGE> wherein: R1 and R2 are independently C1-C10 alkyl; R3 is H or R4 wherein R4 is a hydroxy protecting group; and Z is H, -CHO, -C(O)OC(CH3)3 or -C(O)OCH2C6H5. Also described is a process for preparing chiral hydrazines of the formula (Ia), (Ib), (Ic) and (Id).
