The invention reduces the number of cycles of charge-discharge operation required in the formation process involved in manufacturing of a sealed type nickel-hydrogen cell having a large high-rate discharge capacity. In the formation process, a sealed type nickel-hydrogen cell is subjected to at least one cycle of charge-discharge operation and thereafter kept at a temperature in the range of about 30.degree.C to 60.degree.C for a predetermined length of time. |
