PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable and drive a PC card by means of a proper device driver by giving a chance to enable the PC card by means of the device driver which is operated by means of a 32-bit mode only unless the PC card is enabled by means of the device driver operated by means of a 16-bit mode. SOLUTION: The PC card is inserted to a PC card slot 19 at first. Then, when a poling request is executed by 16-bit card service 61, socket service 51 reports a card inserting event to 16-bit card service. 16-bit card service 61 to which the card insertion event is reported tries the enable processing of the PC card by itself. Unless the enable processing of the PC card is executed by 16-bit card service 61, the enable processing of the PC card is tried by 32-bit card service.
