<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image with high image quality and high resolution even when the image has a small information quantity by realizing interpolation technique to obtain an excellent image with a high degree of freedom in image design at a high speed in the case of converting low resolution information into high resolution information. SOLUTION: A LUT (table) 105 receives information in a quantized window and provides an output of a value stored in the table. A relative share ratio used to synthesize a MAX value and a MIN value is stored depending on a quantization pattern quantized by a quantization section 104 is stored in the table and a linear transformation section 106 synthesizes the MAX value and the MIN value based on the ratio to perform linear transformation. Based on the peripheral picture element information subject to linear transformation, the picture element of interest after the transformation is subjected to linear interpolation operation by an interpolation section 107. Each picture element P (i, j) expanded in (N×M) picture elements by the interpolation processing is used to decide a picture element value H (i, j) by a resolution information generating section 108.</p> |
