There is provided a novel anti-cataract agent which contains a compound represented by the general formula; (see fig.I) (wherein A represents a pyrimidine ring, R1 and R2 represent independently a hydrogen atom, or C1-6 alkyl or alkoxy group which may be substituted), or its salt, as an effective ingredient. The compound and their salts can be utilized for preventing or treating cataract of mammalian including human by oral or parenteral administration.
