The object of this invention is a device where the canopy of a lighter-than-air craft can, at the demand of the operator, transform itself into a convex surface that will enable the occupant or occupants of the aerostat to parachute downwards. The invention's characterizing feature is that the pilot's position (4) is linked to the canopy (1) by two sets of rigging, one (2) incorporated in the canopy and capable of being jettisoned from its lower attachment, and the other (3), non-detachable, being fastened to the canopy at a spot level with the largest horizontal diameter to facilitate the displacement of the lower portion of the canopy, which inverts itself and rises to fit against the upper portion of the canopy. |
