<p>A band sawing machine in which the descend stop position of a saw housing and the position of a movable saw guide are automatically set according to the cutting width of the work, and the angle of inclination of the shaft supporting a driven wheel is adjusted with good precision. The band sawing machine is equipped with a saw housing (11) which moves up and down and has a band saw blade (9) for cutting a work (W) that is held between a fixed vice jaw (5F) and a movable vice jaw (5M) in a vice device (5). The band sawing machine further comprises a to-be-detected member (45) that moves together with the movable vice jaw (5M), a detecting member (53) provided on the saw housing (11) and corresponding to the to-be-detected member (45). The angle of inclination of the to-be-detected member (45) is nearly equal to the angle of inclination of the band saw blade (9). The machine also has a pressing/biasing device (65) for pressing/biasing a movable-side saw guide (29) provided to the band sawing machine toward a fixed-side saw guide device (27). A movement restriction member (67) is provided to the movable vice jaw (5M) to restrict the movement of the movable-side saw guide (29) toward the fixed-side saw guide (27) and to permit the movable saw guide (29) to move away from the fixed-side saw guide (27) against the pressing/biasing force. The band sawing machine further comprises a swingable shaft (21) which rotatably supports a driven wheel (19) and a swing angle-adjusting device for adjusting the angle of swing of the shaft (21).</p> |
