The method provides control of a number of actuators which communicate differently. Each actuator has at least one signal generator to determine the state of the actuator (1-4). At least one control device generates control signals in dependence on the state of at least one of the actuators (1-4). The control signals control position elements of the actuators. The temperature of the actuators (1-4) and/or of the control device(s) cooperating with the actuators (1-4) is determined. When a defined temperature threshold value is exceeded in the actuator or control device a control signal for controlling the position element of the differently communicating actuators is generated as long as the temperature threshold is exceeded by a defined temperature value.
