An open-end spinning rotor comprises a rotor cup (11) and a carrier piece (12) for mounting, holding and driving the cup. The cup and carrier are joined together by a coupling (2) which is a separate component with a first capture part (21) for the cup and a second (22) for the carrier. Preferably the first or second capture parts or both have a spherical piece (25) which by virtue of the centrifugal force during rotor operation, locks cup or carrier with the coupling.
