The electronic camera has a housing into which is inserted a cassette that has a sensing panel 2 and this is in the form of a CCD element. The cassette includes a battery 9, the electronic circuits 10 and a data memory 11 that receives the sensor signals. Other electronic circuitry 12 is provided for the control of a flash unit and the data transfer port 13. The image data can be transferred to a personal computer and then be displayed. A pair of marked bands 8 control the operation of recording images.
