Lubricant for greasing gear wheels and wedge clamp in manual seat rest adjustment mechanism

An eccentric rotatable manual adjustment mechanism (1), especially suitable for a seat rest, consists of a first gear wheel (3) which is toothed around its inner periphery, a smaller second gear wheel (2) mounted on an axle and toothed around its outer periphery, which intermeshes with the first gear wheel and can be rotated about a bearing (4). A shaft (5) is arranged concentrically to one of the wheels, whilst the other wheel is provided with a concentric hole. A single- or multi-section wedge clamp (6) is located in the gap between the bearing and shaft. A handle moves the wheels in opposite directions to each other. The lubricant used for lubricating the clamp and/or wheel teeth contains a component which enables at least one of the slide surfaces to be plastically deformed. A seat rest adjustment mechanism comprising the above arrangement is also claimed.
