Processor for medical computer tomography

The computer tomograph includes a matrix of detectors and a processor for reconstruction of a cross-sectional image. The x-ray generator and detectors are rotated so that the object under investigation is irradiated at many different angles. The processor includes one or more processors, one or more median filter ASICs, and two memories to form an adaptive image filter for artefact reduction. Increments for generating the support location addresses are determined using one or more processors, and access addresses are determined for the support values from the memory via the median filter. The median filter also determines addressing of the support values and median values. A differential image is generated by the median filter. The computer tomograph also includes a 32-bit to 16-bit converter.
