The board (1) is made of thick veneer ply and incorporates a groove (3) or notch which matches a tongue or notch in another board made of like material. The groove is made by a milling process. The joint is either a dry push-fit which is held together merely by the physical pressure and close fit of the tongue and groove, or is held together by the physical pressure caused by use of the item of furniture.
