Piston especially for radial piston pumps in braking systems

A piston (1), especially for a radial piston pump, has a body(2) with at least one groove (3) containing a seal (9). At least one seal (9) is connected to the body (2) in a one-piece construction. Also claimed is the method of manufacture by placing the body (2) in an injection mould (4) and injection moulding the seal (9) directly on to the body (2). Preferably the seal (9) is injection moulded in an elastomeric synthetic material directly on to the body (2) so that there is no play between seal and body. The seal (9) can be in the shape of a lipped ring so that it acts as seal and one-way valve. The mould has the feed runner (8) arranged on the side of the seal which does not perform a sealing function. The projection (10) which is left after moulding is trimmed off and does not interfere with the action of the seal.
