Blade used as kitchen knife

A blade consists of: (a) a blade body (1) made of a first sintered Ti-alloy having a hardness of less than 20 Rc; and (b) an edge (2) extending along the blade body and consisting of a 2nd sintered Ti-alloy having a hardness of over 35 Rc. Production of the blade is also claimed comprising: (i) filling a mould with a 1st Ti-alloy powder and a 2nd Ti-alloy power; (ii) pressing the powders under a pressure of 2-15 t/cm<2>; and (iii) sintering at 1100-1300 deg C, where an intermediate layer (4) is formed between the blade body and the edge by cohesion of the powder particles.
