A pedal car comprises a chassis, steering with rotatable steering column (15), rear wheel(s), front wheels on either side, a track rod connecting them, and a steering box unit. This comprises a linkage (20) pivotally connected at one end to the track rod (8) and having an approximately central vertical pivoting axis fixed to the chassis. The angled termination of the steering column enters a captive bush on the linkage. Turning the steering wheel alters the angle of the termination, and moves the track rod to steer in the appropriate direction.
