The present invention relates to a method for amplifying wide-band radio signals which are subjected to amplitude modulation (AM) or two-position phase-keying (FM2). This method comprises regenerating the active losses using a controlled dipole (2, 3) having its impedance controlled by a control signal (4), wherein said control signal has a frequency equal to twice that of the signal carrier while reactive parameters of dipole (2) are substantially lower than active parameters (3). Practical amplification of the AM and FM2 signals can be achieved by the series connection of the signal source (1) to the controlled dipole (2, 3, 6) via a current line, the signal impedances of both being commensurable. This device also implies lowering to a minimum the uncontrolled parameters of the dipole, signal source and load (6). Tuning can also be made easier when the phase-frequency dependence of the controlled component of the impedance is linear within the working range of frequencies.
|
