The fastener essentially consists of at least one locking element arranged movable in a component. In its spring loaded work position the glove box lid is held in a locked position. A guide section (10) connects with the locking element, surrounded by an electromagnet (7). So that with its excitation the locking element is released. The locking element consists of a locking pin (8), at which is connected coaxially with the guide section (10), across a supporting shoulder (9). A ring shaped electromagnet (7) is located in the dashboard of a motor vehicle. So that in the longitudinal bore (7) of the electromagnet, the guide section is fitted.
