Recording and playback device for digital signals

The digital recording is made on a tape 5 medium in the form of multiple angled tracks. The data is subjected to a process that separates the higher and lower order groups of bits using a coding process 12,13 in which the data is entered into a RAM memory 2. The data is entered via an analogue to digital converter 11. An address generator circuit 3 is coupled to the RAM memory for reading and writing of the data. Two decoders 22,23 provide an output to a digital to analogue converter.
