The radar control system 1000 has a control unit 1060 that receives inputs from an inertial navigation unit 1030, a GPS system 1020 and a flight path computer 3010. Output is provided to the auto pilot 1070 and the pilot display 1040. The communication link is provided with a synthetic aperture unit 2000 and this has inputs from microwave antenna 2021,2022 that are processed 2070 to provide a precise two dimensional model of the area being flown over.
