Angle-of-rotation measuring device

An angle-of-rotation measuring device 18 has a rotor shaft 22 which is attached to a motor shaft 10, the shaft 22 being hollow with slots (24 Figure 2) so that the webs (26) between the slots arch outwardly and form a force-fit in the motor shaft. The stator (20) of the device is coupled to the motor casing 12 by means of an elastic diaphragm 30 to permit slight axial and radial movements. The outer rim of the diaphragm 30 has a bead 44 which is received in the groove 50 of the casing 12. The lid 16 is pressed into the opening 14 and clamps the bead 44 in the groove 50 to give an airtight and gas tight seal.
