A disposable absorbent article for wearing adjacent a body discharge area having a longitudinal centreline and a lateral centreline orthogonal thereto and defining longitudinal and lateral directions respectively. The disposable absorbent article comprises a liquid pervious topsheet, a backsheet joined to the topsheet and an absorbent core intermediate the backsheet and the topsheet; the article is substantially flat prior to use. The disposable absorbent article further comprises means for inducing forming or bending of the article into a tridimensional structure while being worn by a user. The means are activated by body fluids or body heat. <IMAGE>
