Novel gamma -cyclodextrin derivatives which are gamma -cyclodextrin substituted with C1-C6 alkyl, hydroxy C1-C6 alkyl, carboxy C1-C6 alkyl or C1-C6 alkyloxycarbonylC1-C6 alkyl or mixed ethers thereof and their preparation. Compositions comprising such cyclodextrin derivatives and an active ingredient which is preferably a drug and the preparation of such compositions.
