The assembly consists of a housing (10) with a pressure substance feed and two axial chambers (12,14) with pistons (18,20) connected by a rod (24) passing through a dividing partition (28). The pressure substance feed incorporates a slide valve (70) located in a transverse port (72) in the partition, linked by channels (74,76) to an intake (68) and by other channels to the piston chambers. The slide valve is controlled by a lever (102) situated transversely relative to the cylinder housing. It has one end (102a) pivoted to the housing at a point adjacent to the partition and able to pivot about an axis lying parallel to that of the housing. The other end (102b) of the lever is able to interact with the free end of the slide valve.
