A length measuring device for infants comprises: a mat (1) with a length scale (8, 9) presented thereby; an L-angle section (2) which is fastened onto a head end of the mat (1) and has two legs (3, 6) aligned at right angles and a holding opening (4) wherein, with a flatly spread out mat, a first of the legs (3) extends away from the head end in the direction of the mat and a second of the legs (6) projects perpendicularly from a reading side (14) of the mat and is arranged at a zero point of the length scale (8, 9); and an L-angle section (11) which is fastened at a foot end of the mat and has two legs (12, 13) aligned at right angles and which, with a flatly spread out mat, is foldable back onto the reading side (14) of the mat, such that a first of the legs (12) is arranged parallel on the non-folded over mat section (1'') and a second of the legs (13) protrudes perpendicularly away from the reading side (14) and marks the reading location on the length scale (8, 9). |
