<p>Extraction of Cu from sulphide ore or concentrate by subjecting the ore to pressure oxidn. and an acidic chloride soln., giving a filtrate and an insoluble copper sulphate salt. The pressure oxidn. is conducted in the presence of bisulphate or sulphate ions, from either sulphuric acid or a metal sulphate, which hydrolyses in the acidic soln. The amt. of sulphate or bisulphate ions is at least the stoichiometric amt. to produce a basic copper sulphate salt, less the amt. of sulphate generated during the pressure oxidn.</p> |
