PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for sterilizing with microwave, capable of readily carrying out heat sterilization even to every materials in a short time. SOLUTION: City water 20a and 20b in prescribed amount are charged from a water supply pipe 21 into a heating chamber 12 and a cooling chamber 13 and stored and the interiors of a sterilizing treatment chamber 2 and a preliminary chamber 38 on downstream side are pressurized by a pressure-increasing means 40. Microwave is irradiated from a microwave- generating means into a city water 20a in the heating chamber 12 to heat the city water 20a. A material to be sterilized is charged from a charge inlet 31 into a preliminary chamber 30 on the upstream side and atmospheric pressure in the preliminary chamber 30 on the upstream side is pressurized to an atmospheric pressure nearly equivalent to an atmospheric pressure in the sterilizing treatment chamber 2 by the pressure-increasing means 40. The material to be sterilized in the preliminary chamber 2 is moved from the sterilizing treatment chamber 2 into the heating chamber 12 and put into the city water 20a to carry out heat sterilization of the material to be sterilized. The material to be sterilized is moved into the cooling chamber 13 and put in city water 20b for a prescribed time to cool the material and the material to be sterilized is moved into the preliminary chamber 38 on the downstream. The pressure in the preliminary chamber 38 on the downstream is returned to outside pressure and the material to be sterilized is taken out. |
