PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nitrogen oxide sensor excellent in nitrogen oxide sensitivity, the selectivity of nitrogen oxide with respect to other gas, origin restoration properties and durability. SOLUTION: In a nitrogen oxide sensor equipped with a gas detection part composed of a responsive material responding to nitrogen oxide in gas to change in its electrical characteristics and the electrode electrically connected to the gas detection part, the gas detection part is based on composite oxide represented by general formula Bi2 Sr2 (Ca1-x Yx )Cu2 O8+x (wherein x is 0.8-1 and y is 0-1) and having a crystal structure composed of a 2212 phase and containing crystals with a particle size of 100Åor more. |
