PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image of good quality with improved dry to touch and resistances to abrasion, water and light by applying a first solution containing a polyvalent metallic salt to a recording medium, then printing the ink composition on this recording medium. SOLUTION: (A) A recording medium is treated with a first solution containing a polyvalent metallic salt (preferably a salt of Ca<2+> or Mg<2+> with nitrate or carboxylic ion). Then, the treated recording medium is printed with (B) an ink composition of (i) a colorant, (ii) a resin emulsion, (iii) an organic solvent, (iv) water, and further, (v) an epoxy group-containing compound bearing functional group reactive with epoxy group and/or an epoxy group-containing organic compound having no above-described functional group. The component A preferably contains an epoxy-curing agent. |
